The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has opened up on his role in the June 12, 1993 presidential election annulment. Tinubu, who was an associate of the late MKO, the acclaimed winner of the election, said he took his mother to Abuja to beg President Ibrahim Babangida not to annul the election but all please fell on deaf ears.

Tinubu during an exclusive interview with Newswatch Magazine, said, “I took my mother, Alhaja Abibat Mogaji, to Abuja to appeal to IBB and there is a picture where she removed her head-tie, using her grey hair to plead with IBB to restore Abiola’s mandate.
